Guest guest
You are correct. You could always suggest to the CM that you would be happy to conference call w/the Medicare COB contractor so they can explain the rule to the CM. on Transplant Financial Coordinator Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital Legacy Transplant Services 1040 NW 22nd Ave Ste 480 Portland OR 97210 direct main office toll-free fax lmorriso@... Guest guest
Hi ,The insurance company is wrong. The COB is 30 months from the entitling event and just because Medicare is in second place at the time of transplant does not make Medicare Primary. Nice try on their part.Hope this helps,Thanks,BillReply-To: <TxFinancialCoordinators >Date: Fri, 16 Mar 2012 14:12:08 -0400To: <TxFinancialCoordinators >Subject: Medicare COB at time of transplant Hello everyone, I was just on the phone with a patient and his insurance company together and the Case Manager stated that Medicare automatically becomes primary at the time of transplant in spite of the COB period.
