Hi! I'm so happy to know there are others out there like me who have sound

sensitivity. I'm hoping to get a little advice from others who may have had this

same experience.

I have an officemate who's a great person, but she's considerably noisy during

the day. She talks out loud quite often daily (sometimes to me, sometimes she

just reads her emails out loud), she sighs often, her cell phone buzzes with a

new text message every few minutes, she eats both breakfast and lunch in the

office, and she holds all conference calls from her office phone (rather than a

conference room, like I prefer to do). I'm not good with confrontation (and I

genuinely like her as a person), but I also need to be able to concentrate

during the day and not be distracted by these sounds. Any advice would be much

appreciated. Thanks!

I am in the same situation and started bringing headphones to work to listen to music on my computer.  Now, I can't hear him slurping his coffee or talking loudly on the phone, but I can still hear the phone on my desk when it rings.  He sort of waves at me if he needs to ask me a question or tell me something, and I remove the headphones to listen.  That has really made a huge difference for me!
