ESRD Coverage Ending Question

Good morning,

We have a patient who was being worked up for a liver transplant (with Medicaid)

in November 2011, and during an episode at the hospital, had to start hemo

dialysis, making her eligible for Medicare due to ESRD. She applied for

Medicare, waited the 3 month waiting period, and Medicare A and B coverage began

2/1/12. Well, her kidney function improved, and she stopped dialysis 2/2/12. I

know typically Medicare would end 1 year after dialysis ends, but just wondered

if there would be any issues since it was such a short time span?

Any information is greatly appreciated!
