Guest guest
Hi Lona and all, I'm sorry to hear you are having a bad flare-up, are having a re-occurance of your IC and are searching for extreme measures. I was in the same boat a week ago tonight. I discovered that bladder pain can make you whacko!! I sympathize with you Lona. I would like to address your ideas about stress causing flare-ups. In late Jan I had my first doctors appt with someone who really knew about vv and was anticipating getting diagnosed with vv. The day of my appt. my bladder began to go into what I now understand was bladder muscle spasms. Thus, it was extemely difficult to relax my bladder to pee. On top of that my bladder was irritated and sensing the smallest amount of urine. I know I was stressed out about the appt, but still don't know if I can fully attribute the bladder pain to stress. It took me a full week calm my bladder down. I went on a bladder bland diet recommended on the IC web sites, took Citrical, and applied heat to my bladder. I think your idea to drink lots of water is right on. I don't know if stress caused the problem, but the timing of my problems was uncanny. I don't think we should feel bad though about stress or feel we can eliminate it from our lives. Our bodies sense all kinds of stress. Before a major vv flare-up beginning last Sept, I know I was stressed out over an overwhelming renovation project in my house and a terrible respiratory virus I was trying to recover from. Illnesses are a part of life and are unavoidable. I really don't think I deal with stress any worse than the next person, so it's a little confusing. I would be interested in any other comments on this topic. Hope you are soon more comfortable, Lona. Let us know. I appreciated all of the bladder tips sent to me last week. Guest guest
Hi, Just a suggestion with the bladder pain. My physical therapist manipulates my bladder with her hand, kind of moves it back and forth. This really helps with my bladder pain. Just a thought.
