We don’t list them until all of their evaluation/work up has been done and the patient is presented to the selection committee for final approval. I guess I thought that was how it had to be. Of course, people who are listed and need to have their annual follow ups done, would stay listed at their status and have the eval follow ups directed to the acquisition center. Is this correct? Another question along these lines… if you have someone at a status 7, would you direct their annual follow up eval services to the acquisition center since they are still technically listed? M. We also don’t list until the eval is completed and final approval is given by each member of the approval committee. I don’t think there is any rule against

it, but the insurances frown upon it. I think the most important thing is to have a policy for listing patients and follow it the same way for all patients. That is what CMS will look for in an audit.

To address the question about annual follow up eval – yes, you can cost report any service that is work up/eval. You cost report the eval before patient’s

are listed and then any annual services required to re-screen after listing to make sure that they are still an appropriate candidate. Just be sure to separate and exclude any services that are treatment vs. screening.

Never heard of that. We do not

list patients until they have completed the evaluation and have been approved to
