Guest guest
I will be the next NFB guinea pig beginning on Monday. I have been taking numerous test this week. About 6 hours so far and will finish with a brain map tomorrowand an evaluation on Friday. I can do 8 sessions a week, 2 per day, 4 days a week. That's 32 per month. I am paying for a block of 60 visits, so should have that under my belt in 2 months. The brain mapping is about $500.00 and the sessions, when you prepay for 60, are $70. per visit. More for the other tests. I am seeing Dr. Gurnee in sdale, AZ. He has been doing this for about 30 years I think. Very well known and respected even outside this country. He is a colleague of M.B Sterman, who was a pioneer of Neurofeedback when they worked together at UCLA. So I feel I am in good hands. I found out ( for the first time) that I am very ADD and OCD. A very extreme case as it turns out. He said that my tests showed that I had had a serious head injury. Try three to be exact. I really should dead at least twice. Luckily I have a very hard head:) But, even though I never really though about it, those concussions did some damage and didn't help my cause any. Though he never heard of Misophonia,He said he has treated many people with this and very similar disorders over the years and has had a 75 to 100% reduction of symptoms with his patients. He said that feels that it is an ADD/OCD type symptom. He also said that it would much less than 100 sessions to treat. The mapping is very precise and he will know just where to focus. I can only trust that he knows what he is talking about. I will talk about it more in future posts as well as update my results. He speaks with such aplomb that I feel very hopeful and confident of getting results. And I hope to be one more testimony of the efficacy of NFB in treating Misophonia.
