Guest guest
, Thanks for replying back. My son is having breathing problems, migraines, back pains, seizures, and neck pain that I can think of right now. They haven't told me about different types of tethered cords so I don't know about that. Your daughter was really young when she had hers. They told me that his probably came from growth spurt. What happened in your surgery? What happened after surgery? Was she abled to move? I just not sure what to expect. Thanks. -Marie

Guest guest
Hi, Has your son been checked for Chiari? (The breathing, migraines, seizures, and neck pain make me wonder). My daughter was diagnosed with Chiari first, and thickened filum at a later time. Not that your son has this! I just wish we knew more of what to ask and what to look for in the beginning. had the cord release in January and it has helped her a lot. She had right-sided weakness, toe drag, and constipation problems. Hope all goes well for you and your son :-) Re: Surgery Hi! Thanks for replying back. Dr. Moriarty is doing my son's surgery. I think I spelled it right. That's cool that you live in Kentucky too...what city? That's I expect my son started having problems. His systoms are seizures, breathing trouble, migraines, back pain, and neck pain that I can think of right now. He's tethered in the lower spine somewhere around S2. How did your daughters surgery go? -Marie
Guest guest
, My son has those systoms as well and he does have Chiari but it's stable his doctor said his cord wasn't long enough for his growth. Have you heard of that? He also dianosed with Chiari first. He also have slow blood circulation in his upper and lower body. thanks for your input. -Marie
Guest guest
Hi ! Thanks for telling me that your daughter didn't have to go to ICU. This book I read it said that. I wonder why it said that? I thought that meant that every tetheredcord release surgery went to ICU first, so we won't have to as well. ICU makes me worry more. You seem to misunderstand me or you was just joking....my son is 4 years old just like your daughter. He'll be 5 next month though. Well they said that he will be in the hospital for 1-3 days I guess that's right then huh? Is that how long your daughter stay in? I didn't know this is the easiest surgery Moriarty does especially since it takes 4 hours? He did my son's last 3 shunt surgeries and that took 2 hours. Actually that was his last 3 surgeries! Thanks again for talking to me I appreciate that. I'll talk to you in a little while. -Marie

Guest guest
Marie- Sometimes it may depend on the doc or the hospital to put you in ICU right after surgery. My Neuro's rules are ICU for 24 to 48 hours standard after a chord release Re: Surgery Hi ! Thanks for telling me that your daughter didn't have to go to ICU. This book I read it said that.
