Guest guest
Hi Arian, Some commercial insurances require evaluation authorization some don’t. Call the insurance and ask for the transplant case management unit. They will help you. Is there a specific CPT code used for determining approval/authorization for a patient's evaluation only? This is my first non Medicare/Medicaid or Medicaid only patient, so I'm unsure about how to inquire about coverage. I've been given quoted benefits for inpatient services for the actual transplant, but I am unsure on the eval. Do commercial insurances usually require authorization for an evaluation, even though services are billed to the OACC? Any help is greatly appreciated!
