Guest guest
Good Morning, We have a altruistic kidney donor that had an aborted nephrectomy due to pt complications on the table. The surgeon did not complete the surgery and as a result the transplant did not occur. What is the billing procedure for this physician? Can we still bill the recipient's insurance? Thank You, Bridget Transplant Coordinator Loyola University Medical Center 2 Westbrook Corporate Center Suite 600 Westchester, Il 60154 (phone) (fax)
Guest guest
Bridget, Not sure if you received an answer to this yet; however, you need to follow the same guidelines as you do with any living donor. Your facility charges go to your cost report and professional charges are billed to the recipient insurance.
