Guest guest
I have CFS /ME, and I feel like I've been hit by a truck most mornings, too. It's funny because, as I read your subject line, I thought to myself, " Like I've been hit by a truck, " and that's the first thing you said, too. I feel achy, anxious, feverish, headachy, you name it. It gets better after a few hours. I have 's disease, too, and have to take Hydrocortisone steroids three times a day, so I don't operate on full throttle until after my second dose of steroids at noon. Guest guest
Mornings = torture The muscular pain and brainfog don't allow me to function until at least 2 hours after I wake up. It doesn't matter what medicine, supplement or even caffeine I take, nothing makes the mornings better. > When I wake up in the morning I feel like I was run over by a truck and I > feel sick, just horrid. > I was wondering if others feel so bad in the morning or is it just how > this disease has affected me? Guest guest
Yep, mornings are the worst for me too. I used to tell people that I felt like " Beetle " after Sarge beat him to a pulp. Remember that comic strip? I am taking Cortef, which supports your adrenals. That helps, I just have to take with breakfast ASAP. When I forget, I am certainly reminded! > > When I wake up in the morning I feel like I was run over by a truck and I > feel sick, just horrid. > I was wondering if others feel so bad in the morning or is it just how > this disease has affected me? Guest guest
Well it''s 5:30 once again and I woke up as the pain had gottem so bad. Took two vicodins and am sprawled out on the couch trying to figure out the licence plate of the truck that hit me. I feel like a Loony Tune cartoon being flattened out by a road grader. Hopefully I can get back to sleep but I seriously doubt it, What a joke thats been played on us. 48 Coccydynia, Fibro, Cfids. > > When I wake up in the morning I feel like I was run over by a truck and I > feel sick, just horrid. > I was wondering if others feel so bad in the morning or is it just how > this disease has affected me? Guest guest
I feel *awful* most mornings. I'd never get up except I see the time, and everyone is around. To describe the awfullness: wake up feeling like I haven't slept, scratchy throat, aches and pains in shoulders neck hands and lower back. Often I wake up feeling like I'm coming down with something-you know what I'm talking about? Not aways but every so often for a few weeks I'll wake up with sinus headaches or tension headaches. I feel so tired, but I'll get up because it *hurts* to turn over even, and I need to take a pill and/or move some.. A. Guest guest
I have had this issue for many years. Since I retired on disability, things have gotten better to some extent, and I have noticed that the mornings aren't as bad when I wake up on my own instead of being awakened by an alarm. I am often very sick and nauseous when awakened by the alarm and can take several hours to feel half-human. If I wake on my own, though, it is just achy and sluggish, etc., and it eases up in only an hour or so. Hope that helps! Maybe you can experiment with this and at least improve things a bit. > > Mornings = torture > The muscular pain and brainfog don't allow me to function until at least 2 hours after I wake up. Guest guest
HI , I find that taking a small dose of cortisol (I use Isocort) right before bed, helps a lot when I wake up in the morning. I also take a small amount of thyroid right before bed. Last night i forgot to take both and woke up feeling much worse than usual - hit by a truck! EveryOne is different but you might give it a try. Guest guest
I " m on disability also and so never get up and go to work anymore, so no alarm clocks. I have some OK days. But still, more often, I still feel awful in the mornings. If I didn't know I might feel better in an hour or two I might never get up. So many mornings I really thought I had pneumonia again, I felt so bad. But then I noticed it dissolved into just my regular fatigue and aches/pain, not total misery. K. Guest guest
Thats exactly what I do too Annette-exactly the same. Amazing, isnt it, we're all so similar, though we don't live nearby one another, & most of us have never met. And to think there's still doctors that don't believe there's such a thing as the conditions we have! :-/ A. Guest guest
Yes! I definitely remember Beetle , . :-) And yep, it is like that...as if one's feet are twisted around, one up one sideways, back in a pretzel shape, head down where one's ankle should be....and *pain* inside and out. Yes. :-( KA Re: How does everyone feel in the morning Yep, mornings are the worst for me too. I used to tell people that I felt like " Beetle " after Sarge beat him to a pulp. Guest guest
I feel exactly the same way every single morning. I describe it to others exactly as you put it, except sometimes I add that it ran over me more than once. ________________________________ Subject: How does everyone feel in the morning When I wake up in the morning I feel like I was run over by a truck and I feel sick, just horrid. Guest guest
Oh yes, I do know what you mean! If I'm able to get up after 6 or7 hours I feel better too. But unfortunately, I usually dont fall asleep quickly nor do I stay asleep, plus muscle relaxers and opiates keep me sluggish too, and influence my sleep patterns. I wondered about the fewer hours thing too! :-) A. Re: How does everyone feel in the morning I feel the same in the morning. However, weirdly I feel better when I sleep less than 7 hours. Guest guest
Hi I am Helen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland I don't usually post. I waken about 6am my body screaming for pain killers then sleep on sofa as my bedroom is upstairs. My bathroom is also downstairs. After I have slept for 2 - 3 hours I wash and dress. I am unable to work due to my many problems. Long story short- 5.5 years ago slipped disc followed by emergency surgery to remove L5 S1 disc due to Cauda Equina. Botched surgery leading to sensory loss to left leg causing muscle wastage. Deterioration of second disc causing problems now. Have to take variety of medication to manage pain in back and legs. 2.5 years ago numbness started in back but is now all over my body- no-one knows why. 2 years ago MS was suspected but tested negative so specialist s diagnosed ME/CFS. 1 year ago diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. 1 year ago arthritis on right big toe diagnosed, recently had steroid injection which is already wearing off. Back to specialist on 2nd April to consider surgery!. My balance is constantly worsening causing me to to stumble more often and I have fallen a few times. Week ago diagnosed with Costachronditis- severe pain located to left side of chest. I already take Lorazepam occassionally when other pain relief not working but taking it more frequently now. I walk with elbow crutches. Physio and GP referred me to OT January, who will re-assess me on 4th April. I can walk about 100 yards then have to stop or spasms start in my legs. I have a thyroid problem, arthritis has started in my right hand. Pain is constant everywhere on some level. Pain and sleep now dictate my life. This is all non life threatening just lifestyle thretening. Anyone else falling to bits like this? I will be 50 in a few weeks and often think I feel about 30 - 40 years older listening to my woes. I am clear of depression for now but have suffered on and off unsurprisingly. All this within the 5.5 years before this I had 3 part-time jobs, was in education and did some voluntary work. I have been a single parent for 8 years kids now both in late teens. I don't have no social life so remain single as I feel I have nothing to offer re a relationship. All very frustrating. I could scream but no point!!!!! Any advice would be welcomed Regards from Helen
Guest guest
What's morning? My sleep disorder prevents me from having anything similar to day/nighttime hours, or a regular sleep schedule. I sleep on and off around the clock, and very seldom get more than 2 hours' sleep at a time. However, if I do get more than two hours, I feel sluggish, stiff, and really dopey, and all the parts of my body that were touching the bed are very painful. I have FMS, CFS, CMP, and OA, so why should I expct anything less? But it's all acceptable and manageable, most of the time!
