Hi Helen,

Oh, my heart goes out to you!!! I have known a couple of people who had botched

surgeries of the back. One woman whom I never see out since her surgery; I

imagine that she is now homebound and sadly we did not know each other well.

Another was a friend's husband however this was a case more of something which

could not be fixed and then treatment after at some sort of quack pain clinic

(decade ago; imagine someone being put ON Methadone and then abruptly .. taken

off and not warned at all of withdrawal?). However, this is nothing compared to

what you must be feeling. I wish I lived somewhere near where you are to try to

help. I am/ feel the same way re. any relationship. I mean, I get in one and

what? 'Share the love' (spread some damn virus I have?!)... Doctors won't

prescribe much of anything re. pain to me since I have that addict history

however I am blessed to .. not be 'there' yet. (And yes; it is a yet).

I wish I could think of more comforting things to say -- just please know that I

will think of you, you are in my prayers. (And you have my permission to scream,

screech or any o that should it perhaps grant any relief). I have to watch that;

I scream, I scare the dog...

Love, Jane, the one with the hound, NYC

bedroom is upstairs. My bathroom is also downstairs. After I have slept for 2 -

3 hours I wash and dress. I am unable to work due to my many problems.

> Long story short- 5.5 years ago slipped disc followed by emergency surgery to

remove L5 S1 disc due to Cauda Equina. Botched surgery leading to sensory loss

to left leg causing muscle wastage. Deterioration of second disc causing

problems now. Have to take variety of medication to manage pain in back and

legs. 2.5 years ago numbness started in back but is now all over my body- no-one

knows why. 2 years ago MS was suspected but tested negative so specialist s

diagnosed ME/CFS. 1 year ago diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. 1 year ago arthritis

on right big toe diagnosed, recently had steroid injection which is already

wearing off. Back to specialist on 2nd April to consider surgery!. My balance is

constantly worsening causing me to to stumble more often and I have fallen a few

times. Week ago diagnosed with Costachronditis- severe pain located to left side

of chest.
