Worrisome and $$$ legislation coming?

Hello and good day to you.

I am sending this email to all the handcrafted forums and groups and

associations and producers I am a member of (yes, I'm guilty: I just lurk; I

really only have time about once a month to catch up) or even just know of. I

have never had to do a mass emailing, but the issue is real and a bit worrisome,

so please forgive any cross post or repeats. I am asking the owners/mods to

please preview and then post this info and what you feel is the important parts

from my letter in the most applicable sections of your forums, blogs and group

lists.

I really hate to be a scare monger, as there are enough out there as it is, but

I read this article in today's CosmeticsDesign.com

It just about -excuse my language- scared the piss out of me. Something like

this would put more than half, if not most of the small, independent,

handcrafted soap and cosmetic makers out of business. The fee cost alone would

bust me for -I don't even have a clue how long.

I am not going to claim to see the whys or reasons for this. I know what's in

my products and you know what's in yours. And I bet most, if not all of us

adhere to a Truth in Labeling ideal. And it would be nice to say the Medium and

Big Kids in this industry won't let this happen, but have you looked on the back

of many of thier products? Many are not made in the USA -especially the big

kids, so it wouldn't mean much to them. And they can afford it anyway.

It's time we got our voices heard now. Anyway we know how. Bitching amongst

ourselves isn't going to do it.
