Guest guest
I am with you on this cup too! He drank the juice on three separate occasions w/o any pill in the cup. The day I put a pill in the cup, he drank the juice, and at the end he put his hand to his mouth and handed me the capsule. Funny, I thought I would try it again today, and he still figured it out. They are all so different, aren't they? Judy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well like with all things, our kiddos are different. I ordered it too and not even my NT child and 3 speech language pathologists and one OT (baby sitters who are masters students and practicing when not taking care of my kids!) could get it to work. I was so excited about it and maybe all of us are just too dense to use it but it did not work at all. I think I threw mine away but if not I'd be happy to send it to someone! Glad it worked for you and others and hoping we one day learn to swallow pills too. He takes nasty tasting stuff just fine though so I am picking my battles these days and putting that one on the back burner. > > I ordered Trevor the Oralflo cup from www.oralflo.com and it works > perfectly! Guest guest
We started with 1/2 a frozen pea. I think starting with food for practice and moving to pills once they've gotten the hang of it with food is the best way to go. Both my boys learned in less than a month with the oralflo cups (1/2 pea, full pea, tiny fish oil capsule then regular capsules) but they HATED the yucky pill concoction they were drinking so I think that motivated them to learn to swallow the pills. - near LAX wrote: The first time we used it I put a craisin (cranberry raisin..he loves them) in the cup so that he wouldn't be so apprehensive. He was able to swallow that then he swallowed the pill on the first try as well. > Well like with all things, our kiddos are different.
