Guest guest
VSL3 is only available from the company and a few resellers. The site vsl.com will give a lot of info on it. It is particularly good with oxalates for some patients but that is not what it was designed for. I think I recall it is one of the only ones endorsed by the American Academy of Gastros ---for whatever the heck that is worth but there are studies behind it.. the pictures on the website of before and after were amazing to me and I believe my son's gut healed in a like manner FINALLY. I love the stuff! It is NOT designed for autism thus may not be gf/cf. My son used it when he was still gf/cf and had no issues and you might check the trying_low_oxalates list for more feedback on it-it also has additives that some generally try to stay away from though I feel they are likely in very small amts. Also, by the time we used it I think my son had lost his gluten and casein sensitivitity.. it was right before Dr. JM suggested we challenge his diet and add them back in. It is also about 450 billion which is MUCH stronger than most probiotics we use. It seems pricey but is actually cheaper for me. It comes in packets and one packet lasts 2-3 days for us so a 10 day supply lasts about 2 months.. the price includes the shipping which can run $20+ also on other products. I've been amazed at how much it has helped my little guy. In fact I stopped it just for curiousity and he began to have some soft stool after about 2 days.. two doses and it was great again. My son had chronic diarrhea and we thought gut bugs forEVER. We were able to stop all gut meds including things for gut bugs and inflammation - both naturals and Rx. It is really one of our most significant interventions. My son is an oxalate kid and they do not market it for this but it is effective for many oxalate patients. I sound like I sell the stuff! ) and I have no stake in it at all but as the mom of a HORRIBLE gut kid who has had perfect stools for months now and has been able to reintroduce many foods I think the stuff is GREAT. AGain, it is not designed for our kids so it may be contraindicated for some kids. Wellness Health and Pharmacy in Bham AL (www.wellnesshealth.com has their toll free number and it is NOT on the website) carry this too but are often out of it. They will carry more if there is demand for it. You can also call the VSL3 company along with web ordering and I'd suggest asking if they have the one in stock (flavored or unflavored and the size) that you want because it sells out quickly. There are also other resellers but not sure who they are since I buy fron Wellness or the manufacturer. I checked on it once when everyone was out of what I needed.. there were only a VERY few who market it. That's more than anyone needed or wanted to know I'm sure! If anyone tries it go SLOW and LOOOOWW to begin with, It is VERY potent but I'd love to hear how it works for others. Best, > > Thanks Peg, is VSL3 also available at Whole Foods?
