Hi, I am new to the list, and have found reading everybodies postings very

comforting. I have had constant vaginal burning for the last two years, and

one doctor's visit after another, along with one medication after another. A

year ago, i had an abnormal pap (my first) showing severe cervical dysplasia,

had a colposcopy, biopsy, the whole nine yards. I had my entire cervix

frozen, which was supposed to kill off all the bad cells and my cervix would

then produce normal cells again. Well, to make a LONG story short, I have been

seen on and off over the last year for more vaginal burning (very similar to

what many of you described as having a blow torch under you), and no infection

has been present (which makes it more frustrating, as i cant figure out

WHY/WHAT is causing this constant burning (i have been tested for all

different vaginal/urinary tract). Well, when i went for my 6 month follow up

pap, after the cryosurgery, again, i had an abnormal pap (which is odd, as i

should have had a normal one now). The pap showed inflammation, but i was

also tested for infections and came back negative. The doc told me to come

back in 3 mos (which will be one week from now) and see how the pap comes

back. Anyway, this may not even be related to what all of y ou are talking

about....vulvar disorders...this is more cervical, i guess, but i am just

wondering if anyone has been, or is in, a similar situation. I am 30 years

old and can't imagine going through this for the rest of my life. I have also

tried to eliminate sugar/carbs from my diet to see if it would do anything to

alleviate the burning, but nothing seems to help. Come to find out, the

burning may not be related in the least to my cervical issues. Oh well, i

feel very frustrated, and needed to vent. Would love to hear if anyone else

has the same, or similar problems.

,

I too had cervical dysplasia. I had the cryocautery done. I took almost a year

for my pap smears to turn normal. I think it just might take that long for the

cervical cells to not show irritation. So, do not be too worried if your pap

smear shows irritation. Feel free to email me with any questions.
