Getting some sleep

I've been living with CFS for nearly 4 years and have been seriously sleep

deprived for that long. I was officially diagnosed 4 months ago and have been on

a variety of prescription drugs and supplements to fight my way back.

Prescription drugs don't work for me, the 'antidepressants' only made me sicker

or I had all kinds of bad reactions to them. The sleeping pills only gave me 4

hours of sleep on a good night. Melatonin basically allowed me a nap. Desperate

to get some sleep I did my own research and found Valerian Root. It takes a few

weeks to build up in your system. I have been taking it for 4 nights and am

already noticing a huge difference. Last night I slept for 6 hours and didn't

wake up once. Normally sleep for me is like watching tv in my head all night,

there was just no getting away from all the dreaming and I could recall every

moment of them. From last night I am only aware of the dream I had before waking

up. I don't wake up feeling drugged. I am hopeful that this new supplement will

allow me to get most of the sleep that I should be and perhaps catch up some on

all that sleep deprivation and if I am really lucky, have some kind of a

'normal' life.
