Again, I would make appointments and talk to each doctor.  Don't worry that you

are being a " bother " ---it is your livelihood at stake!  YES--you tell your

doctors all of those things--how long you lie in bed, how much pain you are

in...etc.etc.

I would never " let things just happen " .....but, that just isn't in my nature!

 Plus, I know how attorneys

can let things fall through the cracks.  You are not seeing them to make sure

that they fill out the paperwork----you are seeing them to give them the INFO to

fill out the paperwork!

By chance, I just found out that the lawyers sent out PCE (physical capacity

evaluation) to a couple of doctors. The lawyer and her staff already think I am

micromanaging things, and told me explicitly NOT to follow up with the doctors.

But I don't want my forms to slip through the cracks, or just be filled out

without proper significance of my limitations. Unfortunately, the PCE is biased

toward physical work, which I can do--when I am awake. So every answer is: " It

depends. " And I don't know how a doctor would write in something like " She can

lift 20 lbs, but if she is fatigued and sleep-deprived, she'll knock things over

and drop things " I don't think that is a valid answer, and if it shows up on

all the questions, I assume the doctor will look " coached " by me, even if it's

all true! I would actually present better to a judge on a Mental RFC form, but

I know those are for pdocs, not internists and general physicians.

Doesn't sound as though the psych is going to be of any help--I had been seeing

mine for meds for a few years---on a regular basis...and he knew how much pain,

stress, distress that I was in and that the stress of work was perpetuating all

of the symptoms...

I have been to my sleep doctor--the primary doc that my case is built on--but I

have other problems there, because I ran out of money to pay his co-pays (even

though I have insurance) and he wont see me anymore. (He did some expensive

tests for me which jacked up my co-insurance :( )

I went to a rheumy, who is in the same medical center as my pulmo, ent and

internist. They all worked with me for my fatigue/shortness of breath/chest

constriction symptoms, but I saw like 10 doctors (ents, pulmos....big practice)

and no one is a point person, except the internist I guess. Oddly, when I saw

the rheumy ( a few days ago--after waiting months) she just said, " You have

fibro, just like the other docs said. " Huh. I thought the other docs said I

" Probably have fibro/cfs " and I was hoping for confirmation. I guess I got my

confirmation, but she didn't seem to think this was a new diagnosis. I didn't

want to flood her with disability pleas on the first visit, but I don't have a

lot of time, so I did ask, " who do I go to for paperwork? " , and she basically

said, 'well your fibro is mild (which I know) and there isn't one doctor here

who can speak to your fatigue, since you went to them just for your chronic

cough. " My chronic cough, which

CAUSED my fibro/cfs! Grrr. It's like nobody but me connected the dots. Or I

am just crazy.

Somebody once told me to pose this question when asked about good and bad

days and why I couldn't work . . . . " Would you hire me if I could only

make it to work on my good days, whenever they might be? "
