Someone suggested to me it is better to take niacinimide because it is not

so hard on the liver or kidneys, can't remember which but one thing about it

was that it didn't give me a flush

Jan, I don't have any specific information on Hypericin, but according to

Dr. Barry Sears in THE ANTI-AGING ZONE, too much serotonin can decrease

levels of dopamine; they act as a neurotransmitter axis. It can also cause

an increase in insulin levels. Serotonin can increase platelet

aggregation which can increase the chances of heart attack. He says a safer

way to get more serotonin is through diet i.e. consuming more

tryptophan, which is the precursor to serotonin, in your diet with turkey

and milk. Then too, there is the question of whether or not it's a lack of

serotonin that you're dealing with or the inability to release it

effectively. Too many " bad " eicosanoids, hormones used for communication

between cells, can cause the ineffective release. This can be controlled

through diet.

I'm not sure how relevant any of this information is for you, but I thought

I would send it along just in case. I guess it would be a good idea to

check out thoroughly with your doctor and pharmacist how valid these

side-effects are and how they relate to Hypericin.

rheumatic Has anyone used Hypericin?
