Guest guest
Greetings Dragon Slayers ( and don't you forget that please ) It has been a week of roller coaster emotions with sadness winning out this week at least, but moments of warm feelings, Uncle Fuzzy and Alli are home from the resort, and I pray that they will BOTH do as they are told and look after themselves! That goes without saying for the rest of my brood. If you have been around the mailing list you will know that I have my boy Jakers, he's my boy, and for the last 13 plus years he's the reason my feet hit the floor every morning. He's a black Cocker Spaniel I rescued almost 14 years ago now. I live with acute depression, and Jake helps me with that ( as you who are animal lovers will attest as will my old friends. Well last Thursday I noticed a growth inside his mouth, the Vet said it was the big " C " , whether it's a slow growing melanoma, or a fast moving Squamis (sp) cell we don't know!. We've sent it away for a pathology test! That takes a week. In the meanwhile he's doing very well, has the immune system of a tank, and gets better pain drugs than I do!LOL I don't know what the results will be, but my vet has said it depends on the type of cancer it is, but regardless, Jake is in the process of dying, and my heart is breaking. I have to admit that I have been thinking about his age, and the Lymphodema's ( non-cancerous growths that can turn bad )he has, with the exception of his hearing loss, had a pretty good life. Could it have been better ...a resounding YES, but I did what I could for him, but not enough walkies, and he was never very good at bringing the ball back. Food is his toy of choice! With everything that's been occurring this is a small blip in the big picture, my blip. I just needed to share my sadness with people I trust. Thank you!
