Hi Doris,

Nice to know a fellow Illinoian, I was born and raised in the suburbs of

Chicago. I am a transplant though - I've lived in Southern CA since 1985. I

couldn't take the cold, snow, humidity, buggs. My family, children and 5

grandchildren are still in Iowa, Illinois & Wisconsin. Where is Bellville? Pam

lives in Chicago. She has a son with PSC.

I sent a tape to a couple of people in the group that you might be interested

in. Larry and Marsha were making copies and maybe someone that has listened to

it might want to forward it to you. It pertains to rhumatoid arthristis and a

leaky gut (UC, IBS etc). It has some interesting treatment, mostly dietary.

Let us know if you would like a copy.

Also if you would take a look at my poll and give me the answers to the

questions I'll add you to the list.

Peg, wife of Phil, 56, UC 30 yrs, dx PSC 12/98 working toward listing , Santa

Clarita, CA

Welcome Doris!

I am not from IL (I'm from RI) but want to extend my greetings from the

east coast! You will find a lot of information here as well as some

new friends. Feel free to ask anything,

Gracie

Welcome Doris!

You have definitely hit upon the perfect PSC site - IMO!! Everyone here

is so supportive, are so knowledgeable about this disease, and lift your

spirits each and every day!

I, for one, am glad you gave this group a chance -- you will never

regret it!

Hugs,

Biddy

Hi Dwight,

I don't know why your doc is using 3.0 as a criteria, the

standard CTP scoring system used by UNOS has 3 ranges for

albumin - >3.5, 2.8-3.5 and <2.8. Probably wants to be sure it

won't rise back to " normal " with the next blood test. Usually

you need other things out of range to be listed - perhaps

bilirubin, PT or ascites. Listing is scary. But so is liver

failure. If your doctor is doing things right, by the time you

are near the top of the list you'll be eager to get a call

saying a liver is available.

Peg and Dan have crreated a table of member info accessable at

/wdb?method=reportRows & listname= & tbl=1

It started with name, sex, age, state/city and illness stage but

has expanded to add a few more bits of info.
