Guest guest
ann The Shingles vaccine was deemed safe for the general public, but that does not make it safe for CFIDS/CFS/ME or Fibromyalgia sufferers. Many doctors and patients (myself included) believe that no vaccine is safe. In the end, you weigh the risks of acquiring the disease that the vaccine protects against versus the risks of the vaccine, which for CFS/CFIDS/ME & FM sufferers are much higher than the general population. Hope this helps. Sorry for not responding sooner. Steve M in PA I thought all vaccines were not good for us. Not that we are offical designated as having an autoimmune disease but I think that will very soon be the case. ann
Guest guest
My Rheumy is going to put me on Enbrel with a 77% increased risk for shingles. I opt to take the shingles vaccine over the risk of incurring shingles. If the Enbrel will help with the pain and fatigue I live with every day, which the handful of pain medication three times a day barely touches, then I feel I've got to try something else. Besides which, another side effect of Enbrel can be sudden death, that out to take care of pain and fatigue, Eh? I realize this is a Chronic Fatigue list. I started with CF and body and joint pain and have progressed to whatever the diagnosis is now. They actually don't seem to be able to pin it down. I hurt all the time, I sleep all the time when pain doesn't wake me up, the least effort for anything knocks me out...... and then I'll have a 'good' day and can get something done that *I* want to do! For a few hours.
