Guest guest
I have been cold trky off of zyprexa now for fourteen days. My anxiety has lessened but I am still having trouble sleeping. Does any one know how long withdrawals will last? I was only on the medication for about a month and a half at 5mgs and then a week at 10mgs. I decided to stop due to how it was making me feel and all of the nasty side affects that were possible. Does your sleep cycle return? Thanks,

There are numerous factors like age, how long you took the drug, other drugs you've taken, exposure to toxins throughout life, condition of health throughout life, how well you metabolized the drug you were taking, what you're doing right now to restore your health (these drugs deplete a number of nutrients and have adverse effects on all bodily systems), etc. So, there is no way to tll you how long this will take. This gives your brain time to readjust and begin functioning properly again. Why was this prescribed for you and how do you intend to address this problem now? You said: << Does your sleep cycle return?>> ** In most cases, it improves. As far as completely returning, again, this depends on numerous factors so it's not something that can be predicted for you. Can you describe the symptoms you are having? Guest guest
> Hello Cathrine, > > It was perscribed to me because my Dr. thought I was bi-polar, but what in fact I was going through was zolft withdrawals. I was on zoloft since last may for depression at about 200mgs. I had lost my perscription and had started going through withdrawals. I believed the Dr. about me being bi-polar and started on zypexa. It started to make me feel more depressed and I didn't like what could potentially happen on the drug so that is why I stopped takinging it. I now know it was very unwise to stop the meds cold turkey; but I have made it this far it can only get better. I am taking a number of supplements to help my depleted system. For my sleep, I started taking valerian root and melatonin, this seems to help a little. I have very disrupted sleep, I can't seem to fall asleep and toss and turn all night. When I do its very short periods with bad dreams. I just was wondering if this will end? I know I need to be patient and not get discouraged. Is there anything else that I > could do?>> ** I can't tell you what to do until it is clear what you are doing. You said: <<I am taking a number of supplements...>> ** Names and doses? You said: <<For my sleep, I started taking valerian root and melatonin...>> ** How old are you? In most cases, melatonin shouldn't be taken by anyone under the age of 40. As far as valerian goes, this should only be taken for 2-3 weeks. You said: << I now know it was very unwise to stop the meds cold turkey; but I have made it this far it can only get better.>> ** It may seem like a logical assumtion but it doesn't necessarily work that way. Let's see what we can do to ensure it does. But do understand--tyou have taken a more difficult, more dangerous road. Regards,
