Coming Soon! Project116 — Let’s change the conversation about pain in

America

The American Pain Foundation is embarking on a new journey in advocating,

educating and communicating about pain in America. The recent Institute of

Medicine’s report on pain states that at least 116 million Americans live

with chronic pain. Despite this large number, inadequate access and care for

people with pain is growing.

Project116 will connect the 116 million and become the spark to ignite a

major national movement to unite, mobilize and validate what people with

pain experience in communities across the United States.

What is Project116?

Project116 is a new national movement aimed to protect YOUR right to

appropriate pain care and access to pain treatment options.

Project116.org — a cutting-edge website designed to support a sustained

viral and grassroots driven campaign — will launch in March 2012. It will

feature:

A combined blog and mapping platform enabling people with pain to share

their stories and show in real-time where barriers to care are happening

around the country

Interactive tools that connect people with pain to local resources. This

will enable anyone with local support information to upload resources

(face-to-face, telephone, online and more — all are invited to share)

Mapping tools to connect and mobilize people with pain and others around

advocacy initiatives in their communities and states.

Project116 will change the conversation about pain and pain care in the

United States.
