Guest guest
Thought you all might like to read this and perhaps chat Chris. From yarbroughl@... Being a very knowledgeable person about these diseases I feel too that there is indeed an infectious cause behind SLE as well as other immuno or rheumatic diseases. Your problem today is most doctors as so but headed they think they know everything. Most aren't willing to listen to new ideas ot how you may feel with other treatments. It would stand to reason that if infections can cause flares in lupus then indeed an infection could be the cause of this ongoing disease in the first place. Most all people with autoimmune disease have their first flare or symptoms preceeded by mono, otitis media, mumps, or some viral infection. It seems a shame that people in the millions all over the world are dying yes dying and suffering from these diseases that are called autoimmune. Treatment of these diseases should be first approached with systemic antibiotics and nsaids with the antibiotics given for at least 1 yr. They can't be any more harmful than some of the other drugs given to people. eg: immuno suppressants, anti malarials, etc. all of the immunologial disorders are closely related. It is well known what takes place within the blood that cause the inflammation associated with these disorders. If a cure or simple solution was to prove to control or yes even cure these disorders think of what it would cost the medical and pharmecutial industry. This is one of the major reasons for patients to walk in to see a doctor or pharmacist. These are really disorders that not a not is being done to eradicate . Another problem with treatment is the inability to get a diagnosis. Most doctors don't even think about men having lupus, or ureaplasmas. They are labeled as nuts, all in your head. Many of the tests for immuno diseases takes years to show up in blood work. doctors today don't have enough sense to make a diagnosis based on symptons. Not only that but different labs are sometimes better than others at diagnostics. All lab work done looking for an immunological disease should be sent to labs that specialize in this type of work. I have said enough. while I think the antiobotic therapy is the way to go i don' t see this being widely used in the medical profession for a long time to come.
