I have been taking Arava for a long time. It's the one med they keep me on while

they change others.

So apparently mtx injections are not available anywhere & I cannot take

the pills. I was switched to this Arava (Leflunomide) to start Sunday. Has

anyone else ever tried this?? I've already been fighting a cold for 3 weeks,

and the side effects seem intense. Just wondering if anyone has any input.

Thanks!

Dear pmluten,

I took the pills for a while and then they went to the injections. The

injections work quicker and that was what collapsed my one lung. The pills

always made me sick for three or more days and that was awful. But they helped.

Hello. My name is Sherry. Back when I was first diagnosed in Dec. 05, I was put

on MTX and it made me sick for about 3-5 days after taking it. I finally got fed

up and asked the doctor if we could please try another med. He tried telling me

that others like it would have generally the same results. Well let me tell you;

I went from taking MTX, 8 pills once a week, to Arava, 1 pill every day and I am

so glad that I made the switch. I definitely know what you are saying about the

side effects of the MTX. They are the worse, at least they were for me. That

stuff made me so sick that I could barely stand to get out of bed and when I did

I just pretty much stayed in my chair for the day. That's not a life. Although

as a whole I hate taking pills, I love the Arava any day over the MTX. I hope

this helps.

Take Care,

Sherry, Toledo, Ohio
