Guest guest
You will probably always have a slightly elevated Ferritin level. Your doc should be able to assess your 'norm'. Bad flares can make it sky high. ferritin test Does anyone know if your ferritin test results are always high or just when you are having a flare? Guest guest
My ferritin is only high when having a major flare. Other than that it is not high. Guest guest
Well, I have been sick without remission since January of '04, and my Ferritin levels are still all over the board. The weird thing is I can feel relatively decent and they will be outrageous while at another time I can feel like a piece of sh*t and they will be close to normal. Same goes for my SED rate and most other indicators. Go figure. I've come to the point where I no longer ponder the reasoning behind it and just do what my Dr's want done...for the most part. I've been down the past 10+ days after another minor surgery that has sent my headache into orbit again..yet my blood tests all came back decent considering I have Stills. too many things happen with this illness that drag you down..try not to think too much about them as there isn't much we can do about it and the last thing many of us need is another straw upon the camels' proverbial back! Later, Kirk. PS please disregard spelling errors as I can hardly read the screen due to severe diplopia (double vision) that gets worse as my headaches do. > ** > > > Does anyone know if your ferritin test results are always high or just > when you are having a flare? > > > -- Everything in life sucks except things that should! Guest guest
Ferritin is a protien that adheres to iron in your body, basically the test is used to measure the amount of iron being stored in your body. Typically this is high with Stills. & nbsp; -- Sent from my Palm Pixi On Apr 30, 2012 1:20 PM, Kathy Eddy & lt;grammakathy22@... & gt; wrote: & nbsp; what exactly is a ferritin test what does it test for ________________________________ From: ancaul & lt;ancaul@... & gt; To: Stillsdisease Sent: Saturday, April 28, 2012 1:40 PM Subject: ferritin test & nbsp; Does anyone know if your ferritin test results are always high or just when you are having a flare? Guest guest
Hi Kathy, If you go to www.stillsdisease.org which is the foundations web site, it will tell you all about the tests for stills and what they mean. It is a wonderful resource and easy to understand. It also has a lot of other information about Still’s disease. Have a good day, From: Kathy Eddy what exactly is a ferritin test what does it test for
