Guest guest
, im not exactly sure, but when it comes to the insurance i dont get anything, ive met my deductible which is 1300 in the beginng of the year when they tried to figure out what was wrong with me, n then they were suppose to cover 80% of everything and i also have coinsurance (idk exactly what that means)but im noticing that im still responsible for a big chunk of any visit, for example my ra visit was 140$,sometimes 120$ before deductible now its 85$ n i have to pay 65$ from that, its not making any sense to me at all. my out of pocket cost is about 2500 and i think maximum is 6000 if im not mistaken when i called the insurance 10th time they told me that they will cover kineret for 12.41$ per month supply, but turns out thats what is covered under my plan per syringe, and since it comes in 28day supply box its 347$, they also told me to go thru their mail in pharmacy called medco,n when i called medco they've told me i have to go thru a specialty pharmacy acredo when i finally got in touch with acredo they wont cover it and they told me wallgreens specialty, and when wallgreens told me the price the same as the local specialty pharmacy i decided to switch again to medcart i would sincerely appreciate any help that i could get because this entire experience is been pretty tough -ewelina > > I may be able to help you with this, I have worked in medical billing since I graduated high school. Guest guest
Do you get a statement from your insurance regarding your office and hospital visits? I always compare my statement from the insurance company to the amount I've been charged by my doctor, hospital, even lab work. The amount you are paying after deductable seems high for 20%, but you would need to look at your insurance statement (which is called an " explanation of benefits " ) as far as the kineret it sounds like it's going through your pharmacy plan so unfortunately the out of pocket max won't apply, do you get an invoice with your shipment that shows the total cost of the injections before insurance? I'm wondering how much (what percentage) they are paying. I'm sorry your having such a hard time, and I know how hard it can be to understand, and if you don't know the right questions to ask, it's going to be hard to get answers. I guess I should also ask where you are from? Because if you're in another country it might be different for you? & nbsp; When you talked to acredo, did they say why they wouldn't cover it? & nbsp; -- Sent from my Palm Pixi On Apr 4, 2012 9:45 PM, ewelinasandulescu & lt;xevy88x@... & gt; wrote: & nbsp; , im not exactly sure, but when it comes to the insurance i dont get anything, ive met my deductible which is 1300 in the beginng of the year when they tried to figure out what was wrong with me, n then they were suppose to cover 80% of everything and i also have coinsurance (idk exactly what that means)but im noticing that im still responsible for a big chunk of any visit, for example my ra visit was 140$,sometimes 120$ before deductible now its 85$ n i have to pay 65$ from that, its not making any sense to me at all. my out of pocket cost is about 2500 and i think maximum is 6000 if im not mistaken when i called the insurance 10th time they told me that they will cover kineret for 12.41$ per month supply, but turns out thats what is covered under my plan per syringe, and since it comes in 28day supply box its 347$, they also told me to go thru their mail in pharmacy called medco,n when i called medco they've told me i have to go thru a specialty pharmacy acredo when i finally got in touch with acredo they wont cover it and they told me wallgreens specialty, and when wallgreens told me the price the same as the local specialty pharmacy i decided to switch again to medcart i would sincerely appreciate any help that i could get because this entire experience is been pretty tough -ewelina & gt; & gt; I may be able to help you with this, I have worked in medical billing since I graduated high school.
