Guest guest
Hi CJ, Jennie wrote: > I kind of sense though that you have a larger issue that is connected to this that is what you really want help with... ? But if so... I'm missing it... I wondered that, too. 's response offered one clue, the investment you have already made in this group. It does sound considerable, and I am sure that people did benefit from the things you posted there. Maybe their lives have gotten hectic and they no longer have time to post, or perhaps, seeing the environment had changed, they have moved on. Judy also spoke to the challenges of running online discussion groups. I laughed at her description of the Munchhausen's writer, good one Judy, I will remember that one! There is only one constant, and that is change. Try to celebrate the good memories, and give yourself a pat on the back for your accomplishments, and perhaps, yes, grieve for the loss of a community too, and then move on, and find (or make) new communities. - Helen
Guest guest
Helen, Thanks for asking:) Yes, I am still around, silent and “reading only” (that’s lurking, isn’t it! ;p). We are kind of living in the fast lane the past months and hardly had time to be online, so, also no interesting articles to share. I started intensive courses “reading and writing Arabic” and oh dear, what a challenge that turned out to be! It kept me on my toes. Besides that, the soup kitchen for the elderly where I volunteer was/is so low on funds that fundraising became urgent and needed full attention too. Add to that 'regional tension', regular houseguests and our ‘daily challenges’, 24 hours in one day seem not enough. I believe that “things happen for a reason”. Being so wrapped up means we’re not actively working on issues, instead, it turns out to be a time of observation that gives inspiration for the next phase. My search for better understanding, better communication, finding a better balance between ‘giving and taking’ and what is achievable and what isn’t, never ends. I’m ever so grateful for the interesting discussions and shared articles; they keep me in touch with our “reality”. I follow my “e-family” with all ups and downs and hope to join in as soon as things get a bit less hectic. With you all in thought! Greetings, Anoush CJ, I like the articles and information that you (and others) post here (haven't heard from Anoush for awhile, hope she's still here.) My philosophy was always, " if the shoe fits, wear it, if it doesn't, don't buy the shoe. " But there will always be those who would not even allow you to see the shoe if *they* don't like it, and that's true for both AS and NT. Ignore 'em. Or even better, unsub from those groups. best regards, Helen _
