Guest guest
Hi, Chloe, Sjogrens often remits and relapses - gets better, then gets worse, over and over. In some people, it does go away. Unfortunately, with an autoimmune disease, it's hard to predict. As with any chronic disease, you will need to figure out what makes it better and what makes it worse. That will take time. Lots and lots of time. But, one important thing is to not take anything that affects the immune system directly without discussing it with your doctor - a specialist in immunology would be best. Guest guest
Chloe/Steve, Sjogren's is a multi-faceted condition with various presentations and each individual needs to be treated according to his/her particular case. Some of the symptoms of Sjogren's, such as painful joints, may respond to steroid therapy. However, the underlying symptoms such as dry eyes, little or no saliva, GERD from lack of saliva to wash the esophagus, and abnormal oral deterioration will most likely not respond to steroids. These symptoms are treated with eye drops and oral moisteners with enzymes such as the Biotene product line. Other components that may not respond to steroids include muscle pain, fatigue and brain fog. The symptoms associated with Sjogren's may worsen over time, or may reach a steady level. My personal experience with Sjogren's and experiences of friends with the disease are that the dryness, fatigue, and cognitive issues do not improve. I hope you can prove us wrong. > > Wondering... is there any hope at all that my Sjogren's will get better? > Most days, like today... I feel like it's only getting worse. > Chloe >
Guest guest
From my extensive research into CFS and living with it for many years and more importantly recovering so as to be able to run my own business, I am totally and utterly convinced that CFS/ME is caused by heavy metal toxicity mainly mercury. Sjogrens is one of the symptoms of mercury toxicity!! Barbie
