Mike's initial appt w/hepatologist

All righty...

here goes, to sum it up...

feels Mike is in early stage PSC...expected his liver to be larger than it

was, spleen enlarged due to scar tissue in liver pushing blood aside causing

pressure (why not remove scar tissue and let liver regenerate? I'm sure

someone smarter than me has thought of this), anyway....not too concerned

about that....

not listing him now.....feels transplant is a possibility down the road but

said and this is good news for alot of us...that most people die of old age

before this disease kills them....(I believe one guy said on this forum he

expected to be trampled by cows before giving into this disease)....anyway,

he said he'd see Mike in a year barring any complications...

of course he did oodles of bloodwork and cancer screening so until that

comes back clear we will still be nervous....

Believes STRONGLY in alternatives, said he is on the internet all the times

researching, agrees most info outdated and depressing....wants me to fax him

info on SAMe and Moducare Sterinol, he said he doesn't want to miss a single

thing that may be helpful to other patients of his.......

I like him already....

he is the transplant surgeon so I certainly respect and trust his

opinion...and that my friends is the report...

so Denver, like you and Mette....

on to the future....
