Guest guest
I'm sure one of the reasons your doctor is against trying these drugs, in your case, is that they have not been tested for this indication. Therefore you would be an experiment of one. These drugs are not without adverse effects, significant ones. There are indicated for diseases that are devastating or killers (RA and MS). So he may have your best interests in mind here. What I was implying in my earlier post was that folks like are being treated with CellCept and in other areas, folks like Dr. Kaplan are using Methotrexate in the tx of PSC. No one knows if this is effective. Until someone or a company decides to try these anti-TNF drugs in a formal trial for PSC, I'm not sure any doctor will take this risk. Or ask a patient to take the risk. You may eventually convince your doctor that you are willing to take the risk. But beware, there are significant adverse effects, including anaphylaxis.
