Guest guest
Hi Non-sleepy heads! I've had killer insomnia for years and took all the things they's prescribe, triazolam (Halcion) has been the best. But, I don't like taking that heavy a drug and so I've switched to Valerian root (1 capsule) smells awful but works great, and melatonin (I take a 5mg tablet). Those 2 together seem to help me get sleepy enough to fall asleep and stay asleep, which is a problem with depressed sleepers. Depression has a pretty regular sleep signature: ok to fall asleep, but early morning waking. I also recommend Sleepytime Extra tea.. it has chamomile and valerian in it. Take before bed. Warm milk helps too, because the calcium is calming. If you're taking calcium as a supplement take it before bed. I hope any of these suggestions help. I've been advising my clients to use these methods for years, and most people work out a regimen that works for them... more or less valerian, or more or less melatonin. Good luck and sweet dreams! Guest guest
Thanks everyone. Sometimes extra exercise helps. But. Plenty of times not. Ugh. I like everyone's ideas on this important topic Liz Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE DROID
