OT: Friend in trouble - MDS

To my dear friends, I haven't been in touch with you for a long time, and that

is because I haven't wanted to lumber you with all of my troubles. We have a

friend in need though, and I know I can reach out to you - for her - even if my

name comes up and you think " oh, and you are..again?? " It's off topic - she is

in her 60s and has been diagnosed with something called Myelodyspastic Syndrome,

or MDS, previously known as " pre-leukemia " Does anyone know of a support group

as good as ours? Bob, , maybe you know something? She's desperate and

trying to make decisions in the dark with multiple doctors who tell her one

thing and then another. So, my heart bleeds for her. She has a month to decide

about aggressive treatments including chemo and a bone marrow transplant. She's

based in South Carolina. If you can help, please would you post off topic? I'm

sorry to ask this forum, but hope you understand. I didn't know where else to
