Guest guest
AKA Neurontin...nerve med. My daughter has been on it for a very long time...was 300mg TID, now tapered to 100mg TID. Good med. She has not had adverse reactions. My mother tried it for a short time (too short, I think) for non-diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy - for her, no effect. B. West New Medication I saw my rheumatologist this past Friday and he gave me a new medication to try for the pain. Something called Gabapentin. Anyone else on this drug? Guest guest
I was on that for 4 or 5 years, it never seemed to do anything for me and I haven't had any adverse effects since my PCP discontinued it a few years ago. Guest guest
a, It helped me for years with migraine and daily headache pain at a dose of 1200 mg. I’ve been told it is very good for nerve pain. I hope it gives you some relief. I had to increase the dose as I took it to find at what point it worked for me. Guest guest
I don't have Still's my husband does, but I take Gabapentin for restless leg at night(it's usually prescribed for seizures). Please update me as to it helping you with pain. My husband's pain isn't truly managed. Thank you! Guest guest
I've been on gabapentin for a long time at 3600mg/day. It can help a good deal with nerve pain. I'm down to 1800/day now and the pain is not noticeably different from the higher doses. So, you have room to go up to find the dose that meets your needs. I needed 1200 3x/day for several months but then was able to cut that in half. Are you taking Kineret? It's the only thing that has made a real difference in the number and severity of the flares. It's a daily injection which I hated at first, but then remember how bad those first few years were and now I'm just grateful to have it. Good luck. > > I saw my rheumatologist this past Friday and he gave me a new medication to try for the pain. Something called Gabapentin. Guest guest
a, I have been on Gabapentin for the past 9 years mainly for my horrible migraines, but it helps my fibro as well. It has literally little to no side effects for me. I am on 4 pills a day at 200mg. I have been battling Still's since I was 18 but wasn't officially diagnosed until I was 21. I have been on remicaide, kineret, enbrel, rituxan, acterema, orencia, plaquenil and now I am trying Humira. Every 6-7 months my body gets use to things and just needs something else. I am also on methrotrexate. Well I am going to go my hands hurt and are swollen. Take care, P Corpus Christi, Tx
