Guest guest
Hi Val, so glad you had a good vacation and found such a wonderful doctor. Good for you!!! After all the help you give the rest of us, finally, someone to help you...So here I am (speaking of help), now that I'm feeling a little better, I've increased my Cynomel to 25 mcg in the am and have cut back my armour to 30 mgs in the am. In the afternoon, I take 12.5 mcg of T3 and the other 30 mgs of armour (I have cut back to 1 grain from 2 1/2). I'm feeling okay (not great, just okay) and would like to increase the T3 but with the pain I'm still experiencing in my back, I'm afraid to increase the T3. It seems the right side of my back is the worst and sometimes it's very painful. I'm taking 2.5 pred AM and PM but in between, if I have this pain, I take a 1 mg. tablet of pred once or twice a day. It helps so much! This equals about 28 mgs of HC per day. I also want to thank you for the link you sent with information on the adrenal antibodies test. I printed the material and faxed it to my doc and will be going in for a test soon. Meantime, looking to you for whether what I'm doing is the best I can do at the moment. Thanks again, Val, not just for being there but for caring about all of us and helping in a way no doctor ever has... Hugs, A very grateful Carol H. Guest guest
Thanks Carol! Now I learned something , well not really alot, but it may make a difference to some people and I have read it before and not places real credence in it, but it may be relevant here. Body weight may have somehting to do with the cortisol dosing we need. My new doc sets the amounts of HC more by weight than anything else then tailors it to what works from there. He said I would be fine to go up to 40mg per day as I weigh 210 pounds. SO.... If oyu are on the hefty side as I am that may cause you to need more HC than a skinny person. At any rate, 28mg is NOT a high dose and I would not be afraid to raise it more from there with the back pain which does respond to more Pred. Because it responds to the Pred it almost certainly must be a low cortilsl adrenal pain. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
