Guest guest
Chelsea I lived most of my life in NY and was going to recommend the rheumatologist I had there who was wonderful! Well, I still recommend him but it sounds like you found an excellent doctor for yourself. :-) I don't have headaches anymore, but have continuous all over pain, fibrofog and always...sleep problems. How does a neurologist help in a way a rheumatologist might not? I saw a very pleasant and interested one myself but all I remember is she would've sugggested neurontin if I wasn't on medication of another kind. Chelsea, may I ask how your neurologist helped you? :-) Was it with work on your cranium? Thank you in advance. And no matter what, I'm glad you found the right MD for you. Re: Should Rheumatologists Be Treating Fibromyalgia? And If Not, Then Who? Dear The 3 New Jersey rhuematologists: The 1st one didn't have a decent knowledge of Fibromyalgia. The 2nd one gave me antidepressants and told me to see a psychologist. The 3rd one gave me painkillers & lidoderm patches which helped a little but I was drowsy all day in addition to the other Fibromyalgia symptoms he didn't address. I gave up and went to my GP for advice and he recommended a New York neurologist who understood Fibromyalgia and treated my sleeping problems, headaches, fibrofog and muscular pain. I still live with Fibromyalgia but I no longer spend all day in bed or on the sofa. The first time in many years. Take Care Chelsea
