Subject: HHS Chronic Fatigue Advisory Committee Q & A

Q: When will the recommendations and minutes from the June 2012 CFSAC

meeting be posted?

A. The CFSAC chair provides the committee's recommendations in a letter to

the HHS Secretary. The letter from the CFSAC chair to the Secretary will be

posted on the CFSAC website within 14 days of receipt by the CFSAC team.

The approved minutes of the CFSAC June meeting will be posted to the CFSAC

website after review by the Designated Federal Officer and the CFSAC chair.

This approval should be completed within 60 days from the meeting dates of

June 13 - 14, 2012.

We will send out a notice on the CFSAC listserv when these are posted.

Because of the staff time required, we will not respond to individual emails

asking when they will be posted.

Q: When will the live video broadcast, public comments and presentations

from the meeting be posted on the CFSAC website?

A. The CFSAC video broadcast, public comments and PowerPoint

presentations from the CFSAC June 13 - 14 meeting will be posted when the

materials are made compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.*

This is a lengthy process that we hope will be completed soon.

* In 1998 the US Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act to require Federal

agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to

people with disabilities. Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in

information technology for people with disabilities.

We will send out a notice on the CFSAC listserv when these are posted.

Because of the staff time required, we will not respond to individual emails

asking when they will be posted.

Q: When will be the CFSAC charter be updated?

A: The renewal of the CFSAC charter by September 2012 is an internal HHS

process and includes the approval and signature by the Secretary of Health

and Human Services.

Notice: Dr. Rose has submitted her resignation as a member of

the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Advisory Committee. The CFSAC team has begun

the lengthy process to present another candidate for approval and

appointment by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
