Guest guest
Here is an update on my chiropractic treatments for those few of you who have been interested and supportive. I have continued to go at least once a week. On occasion twice but usually once a week. I do adjustment and traction for my neck. I have been able to do many things without flinching or reacting and I have definitely “tested” this therapy. I have had to take a survival job at a call center, probably the worst place for this type of neurological affliction. The training instructor on a normal day shouts, and when he gets really enthusiastic he raises his voice even further. The classroom is so packed in tight that I am surrounded by tapping pens, clicking nails and too many people. I do wear ear plugs because of the instructor and because it is just to claustrophobic other wise to deal with all the surrounding noises. Through it all though, I have had only 2 bad days out of 3 weeks which I think is pretty good given the surroundings. I can attest strongly that this has worked for me. It is not a cure but it has helped tremendously in lowering the reaction and even the sensitivity. It has also helped me to sleep better, which in turn has reduced even further the sensitivity. I am continuing to go once a week and will continue to do so as long as I need or am able to. I hope that the few of you that have been following me do try this. At the very least you may find some temporary release. My therapy is focused specifically on the nerves from the ear down the neck. It has been so relieving, I can’t describe how much better I feel. Guest guest
I am glad you have had such success with it--that is wonderful.I can't get adjustments or a lot of the things that a chiropractor does. Partially because of the conditions I have going on in my neck and back... and now because I have spinal cord stimulators and adjustments could move them out of place--so this isn't an option for me. I'm so glad it has helped you though.--------------------------------------------------------- ♥ " Hope is more than a word; it's a state of being. It's a firm belief God will come through. Guest guest
Marnie/I don’t receive any massage, actually, my stylist likes to give her clients massage on the neck and scalp and it reverses the chiropractic work. I’m mentioning this in case you try it and find no relief. This is a very targeted therapy, specifically it involves gently stretching the neck with a machine and then adjustment. , you may be able to use the stretching machine. At the very least you could speak with a chiropractor to get the input from them on what your options are. If you are not a good candidate after speaking about misophonia to a chiropractor, that is a different story. I keep repeating this and I’ll type it out again: I only have work focused on the “ear package” and nerves running from the ear down my neck. No more than that. Guest guest
I have a friend whose brother is a chiropractor. I haven't asked about the misophonia but he has agreed with my medical doctors that anything that involves adjustment, ultrasound, or even stretching that involves the spine... is not anything I can be doing. Is the stretching in your neck, or all the way down your back? I am not sure if it is possible to stretch one without the other? It doesn't seem like it would be possible, but my knowledge is limited. One wrong move and my whole stimulator could be messed up and that would require another big surgery to fix it and that is not something I am wiling to risk, even if it would give me some relief. Unfortunately, pain is my biggest medical problem and I need my stimulator to be working first and foremost. I am curious though about the stretching and what part of the body it is. If it doesn't involve the spine (which, as I said, I don't know if that is possible) then that is something I would definitely check out. --------------------------------------------------------- ♥ " Hope is more than a word; it's a state of being.
