Does anyone have any ideas about PICA? My son ate inedible objects while he was going thru his gluten withdrawals. It lasted 3 months for him. Perhaps the Peptizyde is catching some proteins your son was still not digesting properly, causing him to eat these things looking for his " fix " . At least that is why my son did it. It was NOT an easy period of my life, trust me I can relate to what you say here. > > Question 4: Our post-DAN! plan was: 1 wk of Vitamin C (800 > mg/day per Dr. Walsh @ conference) > Can't offer many suggestions on this question, except that you appear to be starting everything one at a time, and waiting a week to see if it helps/hurts/does nothing, and that sounds like a good plan to me. Guest guest
Ok. started enzymes today. He is so sensitive, we started him with 1/2 capsule Peptizyde at lunch, 1/2 capsule with dinner. He's been gfcf/Feingold for 2 years with MANY sneaks/infractions. (He's a mischievous little peptide himself...). We started him with the Peptizyde because of his infractions... Question 1: I know we are supposed to give him enzymes at his " main meals, " but he is such a little GRAZER. Does it make a difference if he has 3 main meals with enzymes, but then eats 3 or 4 snacks in between each meal? What if it's a snack that he's not supposed to have? (Yesterday he found a Mars bar somewhere! We gave him activated charcoal for that one). Question 2: Can anyone recommend a good refrigerator lock? It may save my marriage (I'm not kidding - this is one thing that we seem to get stuck on. I'm the loser who leaves it unlocked.) Question 3: I know this is a WEIRD question, but can the enzymes help with PICA? eats lots of paper, plastic...Lately he's been on a kleenex/paper towel binge. Does anyone have any ideas about PICA? Question 4: Our post-DAN! plan was: 1 wk of Vitamin C (800 mg/day per Dr. Walsh @ conference) 2-3 weeks Peptizyde 2-3 weeks Zyme Prime (starting each enzyme @ 1/2 cap 3x/day for 2- 3 days, then increasing to 1 capsule/meal for 1 week, then maybe increasing to 2 for big meals. Wait until reactions subside) 1 week vitamin E 1 week vitamin A Start zinc gluconate We figure we will wait until any major reactions subside before starting anything new. Actually, we have even seen some good eye contact/initiating interactions with the vitamin C (but it's hard to tell what's working...he had a fever, too, and sometimes that makes his symptoms better)...By the time we finish all this, we expect to either have heard from Dr. Walsh (Amber, you're so lucky!) or make an appointment with a DAN! dr. to look at yeast... ANY IDEAS WOULD BE SO APPRECIATED! Thanks... , Mom to (5, autistic) who looked at me at dinner and said, " It's good. " --- Dan --- creativespark@... --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.
