Guest guest
, Just to expand on your list of therapies that may cause negative behaviors, I heard from more than one presenter that even a multi-supplement (the one named several times was SNT) can cause these reactions. I remembered this because just before the conference I was writing to you all for help with Spencer's behavior and SNT was the one thing that I mentioned that generated the most response. Several posts were from parents who had stopped SNT because of the " bad reaction " and now, after hearing that this is a pretty much commonplace reaction to turning the body around to head in the right direction, I guess the underlying message and lesson is " Do one thing at a time so that you can tell what's going on. " What I have to share is, when I went to the conference, my husband asked me to brief him on the supplement regimen and I told him to only give the enzymes because I wasn't sure what I would learn, what was important, etc. I got back Sunday night and Spencer was a lunatic for days..gradually getting better and better...as the original regimen of supplements was reintroduced...but with zinc in the picture now. Even after running out of enzymes for 2 days, I noticed a marked improvement in his behavior. So, the SNT, or the calcium, or the enzymes, or the TMG might have been causing it before...but even with ALL of those things, with the addition of the zinc, his mood is more level and he is more in touch and having give and take one word conversations ( He did not do this one week ago) .Tonight, I asked him " Where is Bob? " (Our new kitten). He said " BOB! " I showed him a puzzle piece yesterday in the shape of a nine and said " This is nine. " He said " Nine! " Today I showed him the same piece and said " What is this? " He said " NINE! " I am more convinced than ever that my child will benefit greatly from Dr. Walsh's treatment and that it isn't what I DO give him that matters, it's what I DON'T give him that matters. Guest guest
Yes, I remember the SNT being mentioned several times as well. My older son tends to react negatively with some of the " all-in-one " type products. There was a whole food multi-everything vitamin I had high hopes for in consolidating his pill regime, but he lost it completely. So I went back to less stuff overall giving things individually, and he has been great. I think Dana also said at least one of her kids has trouble with the multiple-stuff products and do better when given separately. Another thing to keep in the back of your mind is that after time, some negative reactions may be caused by the very supplements that once helped. A few times on this board, after being on enzymes regularly for awhile, a parent has found that a supplement that used to help is now the cause of unpleasant behavior. When they dropped the supplement that child got better. So, I would interpret this to mean there was healing going on and the dose which used to be necessary is now no longer beneficial overall. .
