Hi,

I usually don’t post much but do keep up with reading e-mails. I just wanted

to send hope to those that have applied for SSDI and are waiting. I was turned

down when I first applied and got a lawyer for the appeal. I was denied again

as soon as I could be denied. We again appealed and it went before an

Administrative Law Judge on January 28th and I was approved fully favorable on

February 28th I just found out today. The judge approved to the first day that

I listed when my illness began which is back to Feb 2009. How Social Security

explained it to me is I have to wait 5 mo. from Feb 2009 to July 2009 so it

would be August 2009 but really no pay till Sept 2009. I get Medicare for

hospital after 2 years so that would be Feb of 2011 and there is no premium for

hospitalization it is figured into your SSDI but I will have to pay and have

deducted from my check 99.90 per month this for anything medical other than

hospitalization. They said back pay will take 30-90 days but my monthly checks

will start as of March 28th. I hope this helps anyone that is waiting as you

can see I have been waiting since 2009 and have been turned down twice before I

went before the law judge. Keep the faith and hang in there. I would

definitely recommend getting a lawyer they will take around 5 thousand dollars

from your back pay if you win but it is well worth it. Mine had all of my

medical records in a large binder and had everything marked with tabs and was

able to answer the judge very quickly.
