Guest guest
That what my therapist has me doings. Were working on Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help even out my emotional/rational responses to situations. I'm hoping for a bit of help in balancing my reactions to triggers because it's becoming hard at work and flowing over into my home life. Guest guest
Yes, when I remember to do yoga and deep breathing and meditation, they always help and feel so good. Prayer and chanting have been used for centuries for a reason too. What other activities have we found to be of help with " self-training " our minds to quiet the disturbance we feel at the moment? When counting in threes, you must go all the way to 99. After counting to threes, I sometimes do a lettter/word game in my head. One is to choose a letter and silently say every name or word that I can think of beginning with that letter, Like this: Alfred, Alyce, , , Avery.... Or, to train my brain to get more positively when it starts to swirl out of control, I will go through the alphabet and silently say and think of (and feel) a POSITIVE word beginning with the letters, like this: Art, Beauty, Compassion, Dears in the woods, Excellence, Friends, Gentleness... etc. Is this not what NFB is doing - training the brain to react positively? I am not saying this is the CURE permanently like NFB might be. I am offering some things that have worked for me that I do for free by myself to control my thoughts/feelings when needed. Other suggestions? > > Would deep breathing and yoga work on a similar basis? > > > > ________________________________ > > To: Soundsensitivity > Sent: Thu, January 12, 2012 7:54:13 AM > Subject: Self Mind Control > > Â > When triggered I have an inability to put the anger, rage and hate out of my > mind.
