Guest guest
Thanks for that feedback on CBT. (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - sorry I didn't spell it out in my earlier post.) I understand, from memory of reading this board, that some others in this community have tried it before. I'm going to start it very soon for a different problem, but I'm hoping I can apply it to this as well. I'll report back if I get any useful results. Even if I end up the same - and it helps with the symptoms not the sensitivity itself - then it's still a step in the right direction... Didn't help for the sound sensitivity. but my trigger-induced rage is what led me to therapy. >> I'm sure that was an accidental typo and you meant "Cognitive Behavioral> Therapy". Guest guest
dar de baja del grupo.... please take me off the group De: shmoriane Para: Soundsensitivity Enviado: miércoles, 8 de febrero de 2012 21:44 Asunto: Re: I need to fix this (CBT) Hi Soo, CBT was beneficial for me in managing some other quirks of mine. Especially my thinking! There are some things that I can look at from an outside perspective and say "oh, that's just catastrophic thinking..." (or what have you) and get on with my day. Also, one thing I have to commend CBT and my therapist for-- I've acquired an ability to use tools when triggers pop up and that its OK to use them! So, I still need my earplugs whenever I leave the house, but I am more inclined (sometimes) to use them and other tools before the rage peaks... sometimes!! Best wishes on your CBT journey. I look fwd to hearing about your experiences. > > > > I'm sure that was an accidental typo and you meant "Cognitive Behavioral > > Therapy".
