Guest guest
a....You should check with your Rheum. As a precaution, most often docs will pre-med with 4 - 500 mg. tabs of amoxocillin to be taken 30 minutes prior to dental appts. This tends to be more for those who have had joint replacement surgeries; however, I have known some who recommend the dose for immune impaired individuals. Guest guest
I've never had to, but I am not a Dr. I always consult my RD and do what he asks.Currently, and for the first time since I started Kineret 5+ years ago I am off of it until I finish all of the antibiotics due to 1) The staff infection that was the cause of my morphine pump removal 2) C-Dif (an intestinal disorder caused by strong antibiotics that has dropped me 34lbs in a shade over 20 days! If I can lose another 40 I'll actually be where I was prior to getting whacked! I must add it has been a long time since than, and I would kill to have a normal appearing body again, even if I can't work out and run. Kirk. > ** > > > Hi I am happy that this subject came up. Guest guest
Hi a, Â My daughter who is on Kineret has never had to come off of it for just a dental cleaning and filing. Of course you should ask your doc like MJ did for her Dad to find out if this is true for you. Mostly it has to do with when you need to heal from some kind of oral surgery and the Kineret must be stopped prior to the procedures since it suppresses the immune system. There is another possibility that your docotr might want you to take antibiotics during your dental cleaning, but again, just fax you doctor or call and find out what your doctor feels is necessary in your situation. Best of luck, the dentist is not my favorite place to go. Guest guest
Kirk, I'm right there along with you wishing for that normal appearing body. Illness and the taking of steroids has upped my weight by 80 lbs. I was a little bit sick and dropped a few, but I sure would like this to continue. If we keep on track, eat well, try to get some exercise of some calibur, ha, then perhaps we can push through and at least gain our pre-illness bodies back. I'll try if you do? Guest guest
Well, this is one of the most active times of the year for me as I coach youth football and have been for close to or over a dozen years..I can't really recall. I truly enjoy coaching the kids, and giving back/helping others is quite rewarding to me. Shit, I can't do what I want to do for myself (I.E. LIFT, RUN,FIGHT, WRESTLE) so I may as well do other things I am good at. I was a Head Coach in Duryea, Pa for 6 years accumulating a 48-6 record, and I have a lot of kids who truly respect me and ask me advice on the side. THANK GOD I had my two sons! Talk about a life changing incident, much more so than Stills. I used to be a work-a-holic and a work out fanatic, and about the only time I was home was to eat, sleep and shower. Duryea has not had an A team for the past couple of years (Dumb kids are sitting on the bench for Freshman Football, and most are 11 or 12 and in 7th or 8th grade! Last year I took the 3 kids that had signed up to play in Duryea and took them to Exeter, which is where I grew up. I had one great coach working with me, but the head coach and asst where both totally incompetent and would lie, cheat and steal to win a game. I refused to coach during the games, but was there for the kids and ran all of the practices my way. Now I was recruited by the Wilkes-Barre Bears to coach their linemen, which is all I ever coached even as a Head Coach. I played both sides of the line and have gone to a decent number of coaching camps to know I am up there as far as line coaches are concerned. I don't like the way this particular coach runs practices, but I am just biding my time until I can get another team @ Duryea. I generally lose 15+ pounds coaching as I am very hands on, so to speak. I know all too well one of these days I am going to demonstrate something and wind up getting carted off of the field (It has happened before) but I can't teach without demonstrating, as there is a lot more to having a successful line(s) than basic blocking schemes. I've been eating 5 to 6 small meals a day with a lot of fruit and salad as I am disgusted each time I step out of the shower and see myself. I will have to dig up a before and after pic to give everyone a real good idea of what Stills did to me. Three months prior to Stills I reached my lifelong goal of benching over 400 lbs (405), simulated squat (leg sled) of 1300_ lbs for 15 reps, etc.... My neck was 22.5 " , chest was 54 " , waist was 35 " but I had to buy 38's as my legs wouldn't fit in the right size jeans! I was a rock solid 232lbs, which is incredible for someone who is 5'7 " ! I have a goal of seeing at least 240, and if this infection keeps up I'll reach it in short order! Shortly after first getting real sick I dropped to 214 lbs....and two months later after being on 60mg of Prednisone daily I was over 260! This year I almost had a heart attack when I saw I was 304!!!!!. I'm right now down to 271, which is still 50 pounds to much for me. I can only hope that I keep feeling well enough to coach as it not only helps me lose weight, it keeps my mind occupied and off of my problems. That is why I despise winter time, as I usually don't do well and wind up bedridden for weeks at a time. I'll keep going down as long as I can! You can too! Kirk. Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will get in touch with my Dr. to see what he recommends. In the mean time my dentist put a temporary filling in which is really only like a paste.I am always concerned about any procedure with my teeth since a root canal has put me in a major flare last year for about 8months. I am again in the sixth month of another flare. This all started with the root canal that eventually needed to be extracted anyway. The cleaning I can hold off for a bit. Thanks for your suggestions. a ________________________________ To: " Stillsdisease " <Stillsdisease > Sent: Saturday, August 18, 2012 12:49 AM Subject: Re: Re: Oral Sugery/Kineret/Mouth Pain  Hi a,  My daughter who is on Kineret has never had to come off of it for just a dental cleaning and filing. >To: " Stillsdisease " <Stillsdisease > >Sent: Friday, August 17, 2012 6:35 PM >Subject: Re: Re: Oral Sugery/Kineret/Mouth Pain > > > >Hi I am happy that this subject came up. Guest guest
Hi a, I've been on kineret for years and have never had any problems with teeth cleaning or oral surgeries during that time. It's been safe for me for one! *Holly * *hollydorst@...* * * > ** > > > Hi I am happy that this subject came up. I am on Kineret for three weeks > and prednisone for 6 years.
