Someone told me that and I don't understand why. Thanks Judy >> Judy, I've been taking light treatments for over a year now w/ what looks like a tanning bed standing on end. It was my GI doc who suggested this when my itching was so bad I was bleeding all over my legs most of the time. The dermatologist I go to for the treatments says this is like the tanning beds. I guess what I'm saying is, I can't think it would be specifically bad for the liver since both my GI and the derm. doc. know about the PSC and recommended the treatment. But I have no proof either way. I do know that I'm a little darker after a year in the light box than before. That's both good and bad......I look really healthy and no one can believe I'm sick! That thought was strengthened when I found out that newborn babies who develop jaundice are exposed to UV light to help them get over it. Maybe someone knows what the link is. athan >> athan: I've often wondered that myself about babies and jaundice. My son was jaundice and had to stay under the lights for a day or two. Not sure the connection. I always feel great after tanning. I do not over do it, I shield my face half the time. I just need a little color to not look like a walking zombie. Oh, by the way I'm allergic to the self-tanning lotions and I've tried them all! They make me itch like crazy! Judy

The baby is then placed under " bili-lights " because the ultraviolet lights help break down the bilirubin in the blood. I would think that maybe it would also help an adult with jaundice, but I am just guessing. Hope this helped a little. Dawn :-)

Guest guest
I have contacted a man who was with me in Boot Camp who is now a Colonel and has connections to the V.A. , but he would like to know what viruses are connected to Stills. I want to say Rubella, but I'm not certain on that. Any and all assistance on this is appreciated as I've been fighting for these " missing " records for close to 10 ******* YEARS!!!!
