Guest guest
> > I was hoping someone might have some suggestions to help me. I am in the military and the doctor's say im over reacting and this condition is not as serious as i try to explain to them. I have tried to show them articles, the Today show clip, and they tell me i just need to get over it. Does anyone have a suggestion so i can get the appropriate help and not have this condition negatively effect my career? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. > hey man; when i got out of high school, the first place i went was the US Navy, since it sounded like a good deal, and i wanted to make a career out of it. However, the 4sw/misophonia was bad. I did make it through boot camp, but only to end up shortly afterward with self-inflicted scratch marks on my face when i was in a bad mood and someone made the wrong noises at the wrong time. I was taken to the on base phyche ward and evaluated. Ulitmately i was let go from the military with a medical/general discharge, though i even wrote a letter of rebutal to the commanding officers. No luck. All i can say is, file your nails really short and keep them away from your face. Also, the doctors may be telling you to " get over it " because if you keep insisting that you have a phycological issue, you may end up discharged. I hate to say it, but just try to bear it.
