I smell things no one else does, or I smell aromas and odors before they're noticed by others.

I am not surprised. I react to some smells - especially citrus fruit being peeled. I sit up in mild alarm or surprise if anyone is eating an orange within 15-20 feet of me, or maybe more.

This is my first post...I am not sure whether it has anything to do with 4S, but I find that not just my sense of hearing is heightened, but all of my senses are. I have very strong reactions to smells, have a strong palate and strong reactions to certain types of touch. Anyone else?In addition - anyone know of someone who can help with treatment in the Washington DC area? Thanks! I have heard about people being sensitive to smells. My mom told me about an article she read where this woman hated the smell of body odor. If someone had armpit odor, she could detect it from pretty far away, and she hated it. She could smell it from far away, while others could not. I also know a lady who is allergic to sweet smells. If she smells the scent of Jasmine, she gets an instant migraine headache and throws up. She cannot stand any kinds of sweet smells, no perfumes, her laundry detergents (and fabric softeners) have to be unscented, etc. The only perfume she can tolerate is Chantilly. She cannot tolerate the smell of Pine Sol floor cleaner and other things like that. It's really hard for her because some of her neighbors have Jasmine growing in their gardens. In the spring time when it blooms, she gets very sick.
