Guest guest
Cathie and Betsy I just realized I didn't respond to an email on the listserv quite a few days ago where Betsy asked if Cathie wasn't using the nebulizer because of tracheomalacia. If this is the case I can relate. The albuterol seems to make Caitlyn's upper resp wheezing worse because of her malacia so they switched her to atrovent which is recommended for kids with malacia. Then her lower resp wheezing worsened. The answer: Use both. Albuterol followed by an atrovent treatment, or seeing as Albuterol keeps her up at night, Albuterol in the AM and atrovent in the afternoon and eve. Each treatment is followed by Flovent. Normally she's only on Flovent unless she has an URI (which for those who know me, know is almost always), when she has an URI we have to use the neb treatments.
