Guest guest
but don't think that quit smoking >will solve all the cancer problem because even our modern diet is >completely wrong and full of fat and this causes cancer. I know this is off topic for this list and I wasn't going to say anything but after reading some points I'd also like to say something. I'm saying this so some children might be spared what I was. Spraying the earth with chemicals is wrong. My family eats an organic wholefoods diet. I choose not to have chemicals - I choose not to inhale chemicals so why should people have the right to foist them on me??? Here in New Zealand the law is such that smoking is now banned in all enclosed areas. If there is a smoking area in a restaurant it has to be seperate and sealed. I will tell you what is wrong ... My father smoked around us when we were children. Thank goodness he was hardly ever home. Because he was selfish enough to foist his smoke on all of us I suffered endless ear infections (yes, there is a proven link though I cannot guarantee this wouldn't have happened anyway). Whenever he was home, because I am allergic to cigarette smoke, I had splitting headaches. I developed asthma. He knew the smoking exacerbated it but he didn't stop doing it around me - until he was forced to because I had an asthma attack that put me at the doctors. Then he started smoking outside because my mother made him. Guess what?? No more asthma!! Ever! I still get headaches, nausea and tightness in the chest when I am exposed to smoke, even over a great distance. My point - if you want to smoke, fine. Just keep it to yourself. It has been my experience that most smokers are selfish because they don't know/care how much it affects other people. If you aren't one of these, you have no need to take offence at these comments because you keep it to yourself, think of others, and don't force others to breathe your smoke. It makes me mad that my father was able to do this to me for years. Thank God for the legislation that banned smoking from all enclosed areas.
