Guest guest
ne, I am sorry to answer you so late, but I was off line for 4 days. My son's rash was very fine, little bumps all over his face and 10 minutes after taking the 1/10 of Pep they became more marked and the skin was red in patches. Also, he does not have asthma, but he had an asthma-like cough during the trial, we have been using ventoline. But yet again, it is high pollen season in Melbourne. Although his cough is also subsiding. Since stopped the Pep his extra hyper is gone, his rash is subsiding. I do not think he has Anaphylaxis, as I understand the Anaphylactic reaction occurs on the second or subsequent exposure to the allergen (nothing first time, but reaction every other times). My husband is concerned though, because he is still more hyper than before starting the Pep. He had such a calm period before. I had to stop everything (except the calcium/magnesium supplement, because it was clearly introduced after all the allergic things has already started) that I introduced in the last 6 weeks including the Amaranth and even the Epsom salt bathes, because he also has a kind of a hives. It is mostly on his legs and in the groin area, but a few new ones come every day. We suspected bites, but even after changing his bedding, stopping Amaranth and stopping the Epsom salt bathes he still gets about 5 a day. The older ones started to cleaning up. This definitely started before the enzymes. They look exactly like a flea bite, but it is very hard to believe they are flea bites since we do not have any animals. Plus, I checked his bedding before changing it and did not find any signs. Anyway, I am booking in to an allergy specialist today for tests. I have the referral from our family doctor. We will have the full panel and I will ask for celiac tests (not the biopsy). One thing that the Pep trial emphasized to me was that it showed that what my son eats has an extremely big influence on his behaviour. This underlines the importance of investigations and trials that concentrate on the gutt. I do not understand why there are no tests to see what sort of enzymes are deficient in a person. It is easier to talk to him about these things since his sister is also taking things that I prescribed to her. I proclaimed myself as the family naturopath and dietitian, LOL.
